A key achievement for PAFA in 2021 was the appointment of Dame Onome Joy Adewuyi, former PAFA Board Member and past President of ICAN (Nigeria), to the new Standard Setting Boards’ Nominations Committee (SSB NomCo) established by the independent Public Interest Oversight Board.

It is essential that the accountancy profession in Africa’s voice is heard in international standard-setting structures. Identifying the ideal candidates to apply for membership of the international standard-setting boards is a priority for PAFA.

We therefore draw your attention to the Invitation for Membership Applications for the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA) and International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) issued by the SSB NomCo and attached to this email for ease of reference. Applications should be submitted online to the SSB NomCo/PIOB website by March 30, 2022. Instructions on how to submit an application are available on the SSB NomCo’s webpage.

As in the past, the Secretariat is available to review and advise on your application before it is submitted to the SSB NomCo. Should you wish us to do so, you should submit your draft application by 15 March 2022 to LebogangS@pafa.org.za
